Doctrine

The following list are the basic doctrines that our church adheres to and that make us fundamentally Baptist.

The Bible

We believe that the Scriptures, composed of the Old & New testaments, are God’s inspired inerrant infallible Word, and are the supreme standard & final authority for all conduct, faith, & doctrine.  We believe that the 66 books (Old Testament and New Testament) of our English scriptures, the King James Bible, were given under the direct supervision and supernatural guidance of the Holy Spirit and therefore are the perfect, preserved and inspired words of God without any error or mistake.  We do not believe it can be corrected or improved upon in any way.  This Holy Bible is our sole authority for truth of all Christian belief and practice. (Psalm 12:6-7, 19:7, 119:160; Proverbs 30:5-6; II Timothy 3:16-17; II Peter 1:19-21)

The Trinity

We believe in one God, eternally existent as God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit, commonly referred to as the Trinity. (Exodus 15:11; Psalm 83:18; John 10:30; 15:26)

God the Father

We believe that God the Father is perfect in holiness, boundless in love, infinite in wisdom, and measureless in power. We believe that He concerns Himself mercifully in the affairs of men, that He hears and answers prayers, and that He saves from sin and eternal death all who come to Him though Jesus Christ, His Son. (Genesis 1:1; Exodus 20:2,3; Deuteronomy 4:35; Isaiah 45:6,18; Isaiah 46:9; Matthew 3:16,17; I Corinthians 8:6; Ephesians 1:3-10; Ephesians 4:3-6)

God the Son

We believe in the deity of the Lord Jesus Christ, God the Son.  We believe in His virgin birth, in His sinless life, in His miracles, in His vicarious death, burial, & resurrection, in His ascension to the right hand of the Father.  Forgiveness and salvation is only available through faith in Jesus Christ.  We also believe in His premillennial, personal return in power & glory. (John 1:1,14; 3:16; Philippians 2:6-10; I John 2:1-2)

God the Spirit

We believe in the deity of The Holy Spirit as the 3 rd person of the Trinity.  His purpose is to reveal Christ to men, to convict of sin, to regenerate repentant sinners, to illuminate the Bible to Christians, secure the saved and by His presence & power, sanctify the lives of the redeemed. (John 14:16-17; 20:21; Romans 8:9; I Corinthians 2:14; I John 2:20)

Man

We believe that Man was created by God in His image and did not evolve from some lower animal form.  He willfully sinned against God and thereby incurred spiritual and physical death.  He is a sinner by birth and by choice.  Man willfully sinned and is justly under the condemnation and wrath of Almighty God. (Genesis 1:27; 3:6; Psalm 51:5; Romans 3:10,23)

Salvation

We believe that salvation is the gift of God brought to man by grace and received by personal faith in the Lord Jesus Christ’s substitutionary death on the cross, His burial, and His resurrection from the dead.  Jesus’ precious blood was shed on Calvary for the forgiveness of our sins.  All people need to be saved and are totally helpless to save themselves. Salvation is a free gift of God’s mercy that’s available to all and is only received by those who personally place their trust solely in Jesus as their Savior.  Furthermore, we believe that once someone has been saved they’ve been given everlasting life and can never loose their salvation.  (John 1:12, 3:18 Ephesians. 1:7; 2:8-10; I Peter 1:18-19)

Furthermore, we believe that all the redeemed, once saved, are kept by God’s power and are thus secure in Christ forever. While we certainly rejoice in our eternal security, God’s Word clearly forbids that we use it as an occasion to pursue sinfulness in our life. (John 6:37-40; 10:27-30; Romans 8:1, 38-39, 13:13-14; 1 Corinthians 1:4-8; Galatians 5:13, Titus 2:11-15, I Peter1:4-5)

The Local Church

We are an independent, fundamental, Baptist church.  We believe that the establishment and continuance of local churches is clearly taught and defined in the New Testament Scriptures.  The Local New Testament Church is a body of born again believers assembled together as the Bible instructs for worship and service to God.

We believe in strong Bible centered preaching, old fashioned singing, soul-winning and Biblical separation from the world.  There are many different types of churches in our country today and even many kinds of Baptist churches for people to choose from. Let’s take a look at our kind of Baptist church.

We believe the pastor leads the church in matters of faith and practice. When it comes to the preaching of the Bible, or who speaks for special meetings, the pastor is the one who makes those decisions. When it comes to finances and the physical operation of the church, we decide on those things as a church family. All of our missionaries are chosen by the church and all money sent out of the church is designated by our people.

Regular assembly in a local Bible believing local church is essential for proper spiritual growth and living a God pleasing Christian life. (Matthew 16:18, Acts 14:27; 20:17, 28-32; I Timothy 3:1-13; Titus 1:5-11, Hebrews 10:24-25)

Ordinances

We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ instituted two ordinance for the local church to observe.  They are Believer’s Baptism & the Lord’s Supper.  Water Baptism is an outward profession of one having received Jesus into their hearts as their personal Savior and their desire to follow Him in their walk.  The Lord’s Supper is a memorial of Jesus’ sacrificial death that requires a personal heart examination of each believer’s before they partake.  These two ordinance are only to be observed by those who have already placed their trust in Jesus.  (Matthew 28:19; Acts 2:41,47; I Corinthians 10:16; 11:23-29; 12:12-14)

Separation

We believe that all saved should live in a such a manner as not to bring reproach upon their Saviour and Lord.  Christians should live a holy and separated life from the things of this world unto the things of God.  As each grows in knowledge of Christ and God’s Word they ought to love the things that God loves more and progressively distance themselves from the things that are displeasing to Him.  (Romans 1:1; II Corinthians 6:14-17; I Peter 1:15-16)

The Second Advent of Christ

We believe in that “blessed hope,” the personal imminent return of Christ Who will rapture His church prior to the seven-year tribulation period. At the end of the tribulation, Christ will personally and visibly return with His saints, to establish His earthly Messianic Kingdom which was promised to the nation of Israel. (Psalm 89:3-4; Daniel 2:31-45; Zechariah 14:4-11; I Thessalonians 1:10, 4:12-14; Titus 2:13; Revelation 3:10; 19:11-16; 20:1-6)

The Eternal State

We believe in the bodily resurrection of all men, the saved to eternal life and the unsaved to judgement and everlasting punishment. (Mattew 25:46; John 5:28,29; 11:25,26; Revlation 20:1-6)

We believe that the souls of the redeemed are, at death, absent from the body and present with the Lord, where in conscious bliss they await the First Resurrection, when spirit, soul and body are reunited to be glorified forever with the Lord. (Luke 23:43; 2 Corinthians 5:8; Philippians 1:23; 3:21; I Thessalonians 4:16-17; Revelation 20:4-6)

We believe that the souls of unbelievers remain, after death, in conscious punishment and torment by fire until the Second Resurrection, when with soul and body reunited they shall appear at the Great White Throne Judgement, and shall be cast into the Lake of Fire, not to be annihilated, but to suffer everlasting conscious punishment and torment. We believe the fire spoken of in the Bible to be a real literal flame that burns yet does not consume. (Matthew 25:41-46; Mark 9:43-48; Luke 16:19-26; II Corinthians 5:8-10; II Thessalonians 1:7-9; Jude 6-7; Revelation 19:11-16; 20:4-15)
